Fertilizing
The most effective fertilizing is done when the lawn is growing. Fertilizer can be applied several times a year.
Our rep from Jacklin Seed, Mark Grundman, recommends using the "Holiday Homeowner Program":
- #1 - on Memorial Day apply a 4:1:2 ratio based fertilizer, such as 18-5-9.
- #2 - on July 4th apply the same fertilizer used in the first application.
- #3 - on Labor Day apply a 2:1:4 ratio based fertilizer, such as 8-4-24.
- #4 - between Halloween and Thanksgiving spread a dormat application of milorganite.
Water thoroughly after each application.
